Advanced Speed/Agility

For athletes to perform at the top of their game they must be in their best physical condition. At CentreField Sports we understand this concept.  Most baseball and softball players would agree that they hit, run, catch and play at an overall higher level if they are in great physical condition. Our Strength and Agility program focuses on enhancing skills such as

  • Upper and lower body strength
  • Agility
  • Core strength
  • Balance
  • Flexibility
  • Injury prevention

Elite Speed/Agility

At Centrefield Sports, we strongly believe in developing the entire player through training on and off the field. We know that to create better
players we have to create better athletes. Our 8 week Speed and Power Program will create faster, more agile, explosive baseball players.

The program is designed for more advanced players, who are 15 years old and above, who want to take their game to the next level. The focus of
the program will be on improving the following areas:

  • Technique and movement mechanics for agility, power, and speed.
  • Multi-directional Agility
  • Acceleration techniques
  • Explosiveness and Power
  • Multi-Joint Strength
  • Flexibility
  • Top Speed
  • Speed Endurance


The program will be coordinated and coached by Mark Regan.

Hitting Session

Player will work on the mechanics of a proper swing including balance, load and weight transfer. These sessions will be specific towards the players ability from beginners to advanced players. More advanced hitter's will learn about pitch recognition as well as the importance of hitting the ball to all fields.

Fielding/Hitting

Hitting Session: Player will work on the mechanics of a proper swing including balance,load and weight transfer. These sessions will be specific towards the players ability from beginners to advanced players. More advanced hitter's will learn about pitch recognition as well as the importance of hitting the ball to all fields.

Fielding Sessions (part of all skills): Players will work on pre-pitch preparation, proper footwork for infield/outfield. Infielders will work on double plays and charging slow rollers. Players in this session will work on quick release and accurate throws as well as the importance of ball transfer and cross-over step (outfielders). Another focus of this session will be to work on proper throwing mechanics to eliminate arm injuries as well as increase arm strength and accuracy. This program will be headed up by Jamie Romak for the infielders and Adam Stern for the outfielders.

Pitching or Catching Session

Pitching Session: Player will learn to repeat their delivery, work on proper mechanics to avoid injury. Throwing programs to increase velocity. Learning to locate the fastball using 2 seam and 4 seam as well as off speed pitches for the older players. The player will get an understanding of the strike zone as well as work on fielding their position and controlling the running game. Program will be headed by Mike Lumley.

Catching Sessions: Program will be run by Chris Robinson AAA catcher for the Chicago Cubs. Session will work on catchers set-up, receiving skills, proper blocking techniques as well as controlling the running game. Players will also have a focus on fielding their position as well as proper throwing techniques. More advanced catchers will work on pitch calling and learning about different hitters.

Rookie Ball

Get some exercise!!  Have some fun!! Work off a whole bunch of excess energy!!  And see those young athletes learn the fundamentals of baseball at the same time.  Our trainers make sure that the kids leave each session looking forward to coming back again soon.
